The Yoga Studio at Acupuncture Berea offers instruction in yoga and meditation techniques as tools to help you bring body, mind, and spirit into balance in the present moment.
 
In yogic terms, the human experience is a multi-dimensional interplay of many layers of Being – physical, emotional, energetic, intellectual, and spiritual. The practice of yoga is the path of unifying, balancing, or aligning these life layers.
 
A deep and regular yoga practice can lead us to experience union internally – the union of body, breath, mind, and heart.  And it also opens us to union externally – recognition of the Self in all beings and in all that surrounds us. 
 
When what we think, how we feel, and what we do are in harmony, we are living in Balance. We are living Now.
Group Classes
Yoga Classes and Workshops focus on body and breath awareness to cultivate mindfulness of the present moment. The heart of each class is a sequence of pranayama (breathwork) and asana (yoga postures) designed to stretch, strengthen, balance, and unify. 
Depending on the style of yoga being taught, most classes will end with deep relaxation or meditation to integrate your experience. Class offerings range from gentle or restorative to vigorous or strengthening, and are 60-90 minutes in length. Weekend and one-day workshops are offered periodically on a variety of yoga and conscious living topics.
 
Meditation Classes and Workshops focus on techniques to still the body and focus the mind, allowing the state of meditation to occur. Class offerings range from open meditation opportunities, to classes that include gentle movement or guided imagery to prepare you for seated meditation.

Individual Sessions
Yoga-Based Relaxation Therapy (YBRT) can help you turn your stressful life into a peaceful life.  In your initial visit, you will receive a holistic lifestyle assessment designed to diagnose your personal stress levels and factors contributing to that stress. In subsequent sessions, we will explore your physical and emotional expression of stress, conduct therapeutic relaxation practices to open your receptivity to stillness and to change, and empower you with personal stress-management techniques and lifestyle coaching for use on your own, at home or in the office.  YBRT sessions may include supine relaxation, gentle stretching or intentional movement, breathing exercises, guided imagery, journaling, and discussion.
 
Private Yoga Sessions for individuals, couples, or families offer an opportunity to deepen your own practice; to address a specific emotional, physical or relational issue using the practice of yoga; or simply to begin exploring yoga in a safe, private environment. Individual sessions begin with a body/mind centering process and consultation. You will then be guided through a yoga practice designed to support your specific needs.
